THOMAS JOHNATHAN JACKSON

Born in Clarksburg, western Virginia on January 21, 1824. Graduated 17th in his class at West Point in 1846. Professor at V.M.I. in Lexington, Virginia from 1851-61. Commanded 2nd Corps of the Army of Northern Virginia. Wounded at Chancellorsville, VA on May 2, 1863. Died on May 12, 1863, and buried near V.M.I. in Lexington, VA.
